How a Sculpture Scanning Project Works

The process is simple and designed around the way artists like to work.

We handle every sculpture with utmost care during scanning. The structured-light scanner uses only light – no contact, no residue, no risk to your original.

1. Discuss your piece
Share photos and rough dimensions so we can confirm suitability and give a guide price.
2. Drop off or arrange collection
Bring your sculpture to the studio in Frome, or arrange a safe handover / courier.
3. Studio 3D scan
Your work is captured with structured-light scanning, including geometry and colour texture.
4. Cleanup & preparation
The scan is aligned and cleaned so the scan becomes a complete, solid digital model that’s ready for 3D printing or further work.
5. File delivery
You receive STL/OBJ/PLY files via download link, suitable for printing, archiving or further editing.
6. Optional 3D prints
If required, we can quote for full-size or scaled-down physical prints of your piece.

Sculpture Scanning Pricing

Pricing depends on the size, complexity and fragility of the sculpture. All scans include full cleaning and preparation of the 3D model, along with colour capture where suitable.

If you create new work every month and want a consistent digital record of your sculptures, a simple monthly plan can make ongoing scanning more predictable and budget-friendly.

Plans typically include a set number of scans per month, priority turnaround and reduced rates on additional pieces. These are put together individually based on how you work.
